James Mulato was named President of EADS North America Test and Services, a division of EADS North America, Inc., in 2008. He previously served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President.
With more than 25 years experience in test hardware and software development and execution, Mulato is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to expand the division’s presence in the semiconductor test and defense markets, as well as broaden the commercial applications for its test and measurement instruments, test systems, and test software. The Irvine, Calif.-based division’s state-of-the-art commercial, tailored, and custom products are marketed under the trademarks of Racal Instruments, Talon Instruments, and PAWS.
Prior to joining EADS North America, Mulato was Chairman and CEO of the EADS North America Defense Company and its wholly owned test company, Access Research Corp, which he joined in 2000 after a 15-year career with Lockheed Martin Corporation. While at Lockheed Martin from 1985 through 1999, Jim held several technical and management positions in Orlando, Fla. He worked on significant Department of Defense programs including the U.S. Army’s Pershing II Missile; the Low Altitude Navigation Targeting Infrared for Night (LANTIRN) system used on the U.S. Navy F-14 and the U.S. Air Force F-15 and F-16; and the U.S. Navy’s standard test system, the Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS).
Mulato earned his bachelor of science in Computer and Information Science from The Ohio State University College of Engineering in 1983 and his master’s in business administration with a concentration in Finance from the Florida State University College of Business in 1984.
